SUMMARY:Mighty Mouth Kids - New Jersey (MMK-NJ) Selective Mutism Camp for Children Ages 3 to 8
DESCRIPTION:Caring Cove- Chatham\, NJ \n\n\n\nMMK-NJ is a 5-day SM camp based on the MMK model developed by Dr. Steven Kurtz.  Our camp replicates a school/camp setting with a 1:1 counselor to camper ratio. Campers will practice brave talking in indoor and outdoor activities. They will have the opportunity to enjoy snacks and lunch with peers\, practice raising their hand and participating\, and ask for help in a classroom setting. Campers will complete different presentations in front of the group and will practice asking and answering questions about their presentations. Campers will also practice speaking in community settings (e.g.\, pizza place\, ice cream shop) and will practice engaging in extracurricular activities and celebrations. They will also attend a field trip to the zoo. The camp week is Monday\, August 5th through Friday\, August 9th\, 9 AM – 2:30 PM. \n\n\n\nThe week prior to camp (July 29th to August 1st) is reserved for lead-in sessions to get campers ready for camp and will be scheduled separately for each child.  Parent training will also be provided on July 23rd and July 24th from 11 to 1 PM virtually.  Additionally\, parent coaching is an important part of the camp experience and will be provided during the training and at various times throughout the camp week. \n\n\n\nFor more information\, please visit our website at: https://caringcove.com/campforsm/ \n\n\n\nFor additional questions or to register\, please contact our Clinical Coordinators at 973-370-9944 or info@caringcove.com (Attn: MMK-NJ).
