SUMMARY:CommuniCamp™
DESCRIPTION:CommuniCamp™ is 3+ Day program treating Selective Mutism\, Social Anxiety\, and extreme shyness by using Social Communication Anxiety Treatment® (S-CAT®)\, the evidence-based treatment approach created by world-renowned Selective Mutism expert\, Dr. Elisa Shipon-Blum with over 30 years’ experience.  \n\n\n\nCommuniCamp™ consists of two concurrent programs:  \n\n\n\n1) Intensive Group Treatment for children and teens (3-17+ years old)  \n\n\n\nOur professionally trained counselors and lead clinicians will work directly with campers to instill social confidence\, increase communication\, and facilitate the learning of coping skills necessary for school\, the real world\, and home. This is conducted through therapeutic activities\, exercises\, and strategies according to each camper’s age\, individual needs and baseline stages on the Social Communication Bridge©. 15+ hours \n\n\n\n2) All-day Parent Education\, Training & Support \n\n\n\nOur SM experts will closely explain S-CAT® tools and strategies for parent implementation\, answer questions\, offer guidance\, educate on a variety of SM related topics\, facilitate Q&A with former patients\, and foster a sense of community. 15+ hours \n\n\n\nSchedule \n\n\n\nFriday\, 6:30PM – 7:30PM 1 hour orientation and pizza meet & greet \n\n\n\nSaturday\, 9:00AM – 2:00PM Group Treatment and Parent Training Sessions \n\n\n\nSunday\, 9:00AM – 2:00PM Group Treatment and Parent Training Sessions \n\n\n\nMonday\, 9:00AM – 2:00PM Group Treatment and Parent Training Sessions \n\n\n\nFor \n\n\n\n\nAges 3-17 (exceptions made for 18- and 19-year-olds) and Parents of children/teens with Selective Mutism\, social anxiety\, and extreme shyness.\n\n\n\nFor new patients\, a Selective Mutism Evaluation is required to enroll in CommuniCamp™\n\n\n\nAll levels of communication are welcome! SUMMARY:FIU Brave Bunch Summer Treatment Program Ages 4 to 10 in Miami\, FL
DESCRIPTION:The FIU Brave Bunch Summer Treatment Program is a week-long intensive group program for children ages 4-10 who have been diagnosed with selective mutism or have difficulty speaking in social situations at school\, in public\, with unfamiliar people\, and/or other contexts. The FIU Brave Bunch Program simulates a classroom setting and provides guided opportunities for children to interact with new children and adults\, participate in common school activities (e.g.\, morning meeting\, circle time\, show and tell\, group projects)\, engage in field trips (e.g.\, to the mall)\, and play socializing games that promote verbal participation (‘brave talking’) and spontaneous speaking. \n\n\n\nFor more information\, please visit our website at https://mint.fiu.edu/get-help/services/brave-bunch/ or contact the MINT program at mint@fiu.edu or at 305-348-7836

DESCRIPTION:West Coast Therapy and Wellness \n\n\n\nWeek 1: June 24-28\, 10am-12:230pm PST \n\n\n\nWeek 2: July 15 – 10\, 10am-12:230pm PST \n\n\n\nWeek 3: July 22-26\,10am-12:230pm PST \n\n\n\nWeek 4: July 29 – August 2nd\, 10am-12:230pm PST \n\n\n\nOur  Summer Group Intensive is a 1-week program designed to give children practice talking in a school environment with new peers and adults. Throughout the week\, children receive support to communicate and participate in activities they would encounter on a typical school day. Our program is led by Christy Tadros\, who has several years of experience running similar programs. She was trained as a counselor in the Brave Buddies Program at the Child Mind Institute\, and worked with Dr. Steven Kurtz for several years\, co-leading the Mighty Mouth Kids Program in NYC.
