SUMMARY:Weekly Online and In-Person Treatment Groups for Selective Mutism and Social Anxiety
DESCRIPTION:Youth struggling with selective mutism or social anxiety experience significant discomfort around many social situations. While they may be talkative at home\, they may fall silent or appear frozen in public settings or with certain individuals. Our group interventions at Kurtz Psychology incorporate evidence-based approaches with engaging and relevant activities to target your child’s increased verbalizations and interactions with adults and peers. \n\n\n\n\n\nVirtual Group OptionsWe are currently recruiting participants for our weekly virtual treatment groups for all age groups struggling in the above described areas!  \n\n\n\nYounger Kiddos– Fridays 4:00 – 5:00pm EST\, starting 1/7/2022– 4 through 6-year-olds– Short-term\, 4 week group \n\n\n\nPreteens– Tuesdays 5:00 – 6:00pm EST– 10 through 14-year-olds– Weekly\, ongoing group– Immediate openings available! \n\n\n\nTeens– Mondays 6:00 – 7:00pm EST– Wednesdays 5:00 – 6:00pm EST– 14 through 17-year-olds– Weekly\, ongoing group– Two group options!– Lead clinician will determine which group would be an appropriate fit clinically \n\n\n\nRegistration for virtual groups is open to all families\, whether or not you have previously received treatment through Kurtz Psychology. New families interested in virtual groups must complete an abbreviated intake at the practice\, which includes:– a 50-minute group screener with parent(s) only – priced at $250– a 50-minute session with child and parent to ensure child is able to speak to facilitating clinician – priced at $250– *virtual group costs are $150/session \n\n\n\n\n\nIn-Person Group OptionsWe are currently recruiting participants for young kiddos and teens. \n\n\n\nTeens– Mondays 6:00 – 7:00pm EST– 14 through 17-year-olds– Weekly\, ongoing group– Immediate openings available! \n\n\n\nRegistration is open to all families\, whether or not you have previously received treatment through Kurtz Psychology.
