Dr. Ayelet Lahat, C.Psych.

Dr. Ayelet Lahat is a clinical psychologist who specializes in psychological services for children and adolescents with selective mutism, anxiety, mood, and other mental health concerns. She provides psychological assessment, evidence-based therapy, and consultation services to children, adolescents, and their caregivers. She has training and experience in providing treatment to children and adolescents with selective mutism. Dr. Lahat also works with parents and teachers to help their child talk in the community, at school, and other social situations.

Dr. Lahat received a PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of Toronto and a PhD in School and Clinical Child Psychology from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto. She completed her clinical residency at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and post-doctoral training at the University of Maryland, National Institute of Mental Health, and McMaster University. She has conducted extensive research examining the link between shyness in early childhood and anxiety later in life. In addition to private practice, she also works at a community mental health agency.
