Dr. Gallagher is a licensed clinical psychologist in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. After many years of providing ACT and exposure therapy for anxiety disorders, OCD and trauma, she completed post-doctoral training in treatment of selective mutism through the Selective Mutism Association.

Dr. Gallagher has extensive clinical experience treating children, adolescents, and adults with a range of anxiety disorders, OCD, trauma, and selective mutism. She is certified in Clinical Hypnosis by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis which is helpful for enhancing interoceptive and imaginal exposure. She also is clinically trained in several evidence-based treatments, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), as well as ACT-Trauma, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PET) for trauma. She uses play and art therapy, humor, role play and in person exposure therapy in different settings to help children and teens engage more fully in the therapeutic process.

Dr. Gallagher works with clients to increase willingness to complete workable speaking exposures to reach goals in accordance with client values. She helps them develop skills to regulate anxiety while completing speaking exposures. She helps clients of all ages find meaning and purpose in their lives, especially regarding developing confidence in their ability to use their voice to do what matters to them at home, school, work, socially and in the community. She also follows best practice to coordinate care across all client settings and with other service providers, including parents, school personnel and team members, medication providers, speech and language pathologists, pediatricians, neuropsychologists and other significant adults willing to scaffold brave talking and exposure practice. She also is trained as an educational advocate and often consults to schools and participates in 504 Plan and IEP meetings.
