Erin Glow

Erin Glow is a writer, journalist and selective mutism advocate located in the New York City area. She has a bachelor’s degree in Writing, Literature and Publishing from Emerson College in Boston and has worked for various entertainment news publications, including PEOPLE. Erin was diagnosed with selective mutism when she was four years old and managed to overcome it by the time she was in her early teens. Her experience with SM and social anxiety has led to her advocacy work, which includes creating and hosting SM support groups for parents and therapists, holding fundraising events for the Selective Mutism Association, and raising awareness by writing about her SM experiences, including in an essay for PEOPLE here.

Erin is the host of her own podcast, In the Know with Erin Glow, on which she discusses a variety of topics and interviews people from all walks of life. She also has a passion for providing grief support to those who have lost parents at a young age through her online video series called Coffee and Grief and other upcoming projects. 

Erin is currently working on a book about her journey with SM and looks forward to more opportunities to help lessen the weight of those suffering from the often misunderstood anxiety disorder.
