Dr. Raggi is a licensed psychologist and owner of Brighter Outlook Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, LLC in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Raggi has twenty years of experience providing evidence-based treatment for children with selective mutism and co-occurring anxiety disorders and over 10 years directing intensive summer camps for SM. She developed and co-directs Kids Out Loud (KOL), an intensive summer treatment program for children with SM and has partnered with Catholic University to collect outcome data on this program. Dr. Raggi is on the Board of Directors for the Selective Mutism Association (SMA). She frequently trains and consults with schools in the treatment of anxiety and SM.

Dr. Raggi has a passion for bringing increased attention and awareness to the issues of youth anxiety and evidence-based treatment approaches. Dr. Raggi is the first author of Exposure Therapy for Treating Anxiety in Children and Adolescents, a comprehensive, practical resource on the “how-to” of implementing exposure-based therapy for youth with anxiety. She writes a blog called Brave Voices for Psychology Today and has been a speaker for podcasts, interviewed by the media, and published in numerous academic journals on evidence-based approaches to child mental health treatment.

Dr. Raggi received intensive training in the treatment of selective mutism through postdoctoral training at the NYU Child Study Center under the mentorship of Dr. Steven Kurtz. She earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park and completed her predoctoral internship at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
