Stephen Quinlan is a licensed therapist with a private practice in Dover, NH. With over 15 years of experience as a child therapist, Stephen has worked in many settings from the housing projects of East Harlem to the Seacoast area of New Hampshire. In 2008, Stephen partnered with Joleen Fernald to provide the mental health component of the Selective Mutism Clinic at Easter Seals. Providing comprehensive evaluations and treatment for children with Selective Mutism, the clinic was the only one of it’s kind in New England and gained national recognition. Since 2014, Stephen has worked privately and continued to specialize in the treatment of Selective Mutism and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Stephen also conducts parental assistance/ behavioral strategy sessions in order to help facilitate the best possible outcomes of treatment. Consultations with schools are also available.
Stephen makes use of several different approaches in order to best help you or your child. Stephen also believes that therapy should be fun! For children, movement and playing games all help to reduce anxiety and increase participation in treatment.
