With more than a decade of experience in mental health, education, collaboration, and clinical research, Julia Davis, M.A. is a licensed psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Psychology from Chapman University and provides comprehensive treatment for children and adults suffering from Selective Mutism (SM) and anxiety-related disorders.
Having worked with children and families in both private practice and school-based settings at Outreach Reach Concern and Connecting Mental Health & Education, Julia Davis has helped children overcome symptoms associated with SM and anxiety disorders using a compassion-oriented approach and only the best evidence-based practices. Knowing that the goal of treatment is to provide lasting relief as quickly as possible, she continues to strive for excellence in her field by staying up to date on research and the best practices available to treat those living with SM and anxiety-related disorders. As Assistant Director of Connecting Mental Health & Education Inc., Julia Davis worked alongside founder and owner Therese Haviland, LMFT, LPCC, to provide treatment for the most underserved populations including at-risk youth in the greater Los Angeles community. Continuing this work of providing treatment for adults & children in underserved communities, Julia provided counseling & therapy services as a Lead Mental Health Clinician with the San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center.
Julia now operates a full-service behavioral health private practice in Rochester, MI – Always Growing Counseling – providing evidence based behavioral and CBT treatments for children and adolescents with Selective Mutism and other anxiety-related disorders. In addition to individual therapy, Julia offers intensive treatments with structured activities designed to advance a child’s speaking & confidence abilities. She also offers free one-time phone consultations and remote therapy services to cover the entire spectrum of needs for children suffering from SM.
