Dr. Jemma Helfman is a clinical psychologist working in private practice in Toronto, Ontario. Dr. Helfman has provided clinical psychology services to children, adolescents and their families for over 10 years.
Dr. Helfman trained at the University of East London, England and has worked in community mental health services in the United Kingdom and the United States. Dr. Helfman has experience working with children who present with selective mutism, both in her private practice and through regular volunteering at Confident Kids summer camp in Michigan.
Dr. Helfman helps children to find their “brave voices” with her and then teaches parents how to transfer skills into work with a keyworker at school and in practices in the community. Dr. Helfman has a range of books and other resources that she is happy to share with families. Dr. Helfman provides ongoing support to families and schools through consultation as needed.
