WeSpeak: Group Intensive and Three-Month Follow-Up Treatment for 10-13 Year Olds in Manhattan, NY

WeSpeak is the first behavioral group intensive designed specifically for older youth with SM and significant social anxiety. Simulating all aspects of the school and social environment, WeSpeak provides middle schoolers the opportunity to practice talking across a variety of contexts – targeting many of the verbal and social demands/expectations of this age group. Brighter Outlook offers dyadic and small group teletherapy for children with SM. Goals include increasing verbal and nonverbal communication with adults and peers in a fun and supportive setting. Small, focused playgroups start with warm up time with parents, followed by direct interaction and games with group leader, and facilitation of connections between each child.
