Group members will practice brave talking with adults and peers while doing structured activities. Many activities will simulate things that are done in the classroom setting (morning meeting\, presentations). Kids will build brave talking muscles while doing fun activities! There will be a minimum of 2 pre-group appointments: Parent screener and child fade-in (more than 1 fade-in may be needed). There will be 6 group sessions all should be attended. A caregiver should be present for each group session to help support the child’s participation.

Using a classroom-like structure\, the group provides many opportunities to speak and engage with other peers and adults. \n\n\n\nSpeaking goals are individualized to fit the needs of the child\, focusing on asking and answering questions\, initiating conversations\, speaking and presenting to larger groups\, and engaging in peer-to-peer interactions. Each day consists of developmentally appropriate and engaging activities designed to facilitate “brave talking.” Groups are divided by age and will engage in different activities that are geared specifically for that age group. Other highlights of the program include classroom visitors\, which add opportunities to practice speaking goals with new people and going out in the community.

Group members will practice brave talking with adults and peers while doing structured activities. Many activities will simulate things that are done in the classroom setting (morning meeting\, presentations). Kids will build brave talking muscles while doing fun activities! There will be a minimum of 2 pre-group appointments: Parent screener and child fade-in (more than 1 fade-in may be needed). There will be 6 group sessions all should be attended. A caregiver should be present for each group session to help support the child’s participation.
