SUMMARY:Fearless Friends Bravery Program for Ages 3 to 9 in Boston\, MA
DESCRIPTION:The Fearless Friends Bravery Program at The Baker Center for Children and Families is a short-term summer program for children ages 3–9 who have difficulty speaking with others\, including adults and peers in school\, community\, or social settings. The program is designed to help children build “brave talking” skills through structured\, supported practice in a fun and engaging environment. \n\n\n\nFearless Friends simulates a school-like setting and provides guided opportunities for children to interact with peers and adults\, participate in group activities (e.g.\, morning meeting\, art projects\, games)\, and engage in community-based outings that encourage real-world speaking practice. This 6-week virtual series gives you the opportunity to: \n\n\n\n\nBuild confidence in social communication through interactive activities\, real-life scenarios\, and group collaboration\n\n\n\nPractice practical\, age-relevant skills like introducing yourself\, navigating group conversations\, and maintaining connections\n\n\n\nStrengthen relationship skills\, including building friendships\, setting boundaries\, and communicating your thoughts clearly\n\n\n\nLearn and discuss coping strategies to manage social anxiety\, such as preparation techniques\, mindset shifts\, and confidence-building tools\n\n\n\nAnd more\, all in a supportive & low-pressure environment!\n\n\n\n\nEvery session is guided by trained clinicians who meet you where you are\, whether you’re nonverbal\, easing into speech\, or already verbal but looking to grow your confidence. You’ll gain tools and support to strengthen your social communication skills in a safe\, encouraging group setting with peers who understand. \n\n\n\nThis virtual series is structured as a complete 6-session program\, not individual drop-ins. Registration is $450 and includes the full 6-week program.
