I am a child and family therapist in a private practice in St. Paul, MN. I have extensive experience working with children whose anxiety, sadness and/or anger get too big. I have a special interest in working with children with selective mutism due to many wonderful families that I have worked with. I view SM as a social/communication anxiety disorder and treat it using a multi modal method supported by SMG position on anxiety and SM. Treatment goals are developed via an individualized plan that includes involving the child, parents, friends, school and other treating professionals. Therapeutic techniques are implemented using a combination of play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, communication anxiety therapy and medication therapy if necessary.
