Lori Araten, MS, CCC-SLP

Lori Araten has more than 9 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist at The Princeton-Speech-Language-Learning Center (PSLLC). She has treated clients with Selective Mutism (SM), Language Disorders, Apraxia, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Social Thinking Disorders. Lori was trained by Dr. Shipon-Blum to use techniques for the treatment of Selective Mutism. She uses a behavioral therapy approach to reduce the anxiety during each treatment session. Lori has expertise in bridging the gap between non-verbal and verbal communication using the SM Stages of Communication Comfort Scale. In addition, Lori travels to schools throughout NJ to train school professionals on the most effective techniques for working with a child with SM during the school day.
