SM 101

SM 101 is a monthly information distribution program, and another key component of the SMG Connections program. This program is very "grassroots" in nature and is comprised of a group of volunteers committed to getting proper SM information out to those who need it in their communities. These volunteers across the world help insure that parents, treating professionals, and school personnel who might come in contact with our children have the right information about SM in their hands. Each month a "target audience" is chosen and materials are provided to the volunteers that may be pertinent to this target audience. It is the volunteer's job to locate people in that target audience in their geographic area and distribute the information accordingly. We know of numerous SM cases that have been identified as a result of "SM 101." Over the years we have targeted treating professionals, school nurses, pediatricians, nurses, school psychologists, school counselors, teachers, school principals, day care centers, state early childhood programs (i.e., Birth to Three), librarians, college and university education programs and many others. If you have a great contact or idea for an SM 101 target audience, please contact Lynn Taylor.

Thank you for your participation in the Connections program - together, with the right support, resources and information we can Rid the Silence of SM!
